This roundtable discussion was held in the Conference Room of the Third World Studies Center, University of the Philippines, Diliman, last November 14, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The speaker was Dr. Francisco “Pancho” Lara Jr., the Philippine Country Director of Alert International, an international nongovernmental organization based in the United Kingdom. Dr. Lara obtained his PhD degree from the Department of International Development / Development Studies Institute (DESTIN) of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
