Organized by the Scrap VFA Movement and the UP Third World Studies Center, the public forum “Partnership or Subservience? Reassessing Philippine-U.S. Military Relations” discussed the past struggles to terminate and the prospects of termination of the Visiting Forces Agreement between the Philippines and the U.S. It featured House Deputy Speaker Lorenzo “Erin” Tañada III and Atty. Evalyn G. Ursua as speakers and Dr. Eduardo C. Tadem and Mr. Wilson Fortaleza as reactors. This public forum was held last September 12, 2011 at the Bulwagang Claro M. Recto, Faculty Center, University of the Philippines-Diliman.
