This is the first forum of the 2011 UP Third World Studies Center (TWSC) Public Forum Series “The B.S. Aquino Administration – Possible Perversities, Perverted Possibilities” organized by the TWSC and co-sponsored by the University of the Philippines Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs and the Philippine Political Science Association. This forum, which was held last June 22, 2011 at the Claro M. Recto Hall, Bulwagang Rizal, UP Diliman, featured Prof. Raul C. Pangalangan of the UP College of Law and Prof. Lydia N. Yu Jose of the Ateneo de Manila University Department of Political Science. The forum tackled issues in state-church relations in the current Aquino administration.
The Military on the Mend – Or Are the Mistahs Waiting for a Messiah?
This is the second forum of the 2011 UP Third World Studies Center (TWSC) Public Forum Series “The B.S. Aquino Administration – Possible Perversities, Perverted Possibilities” organized by the TWSC and co-sponsored by the University of the Philippines Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs, the Philippine Political Science Association, and the College of Arts and Letters, Office of the Dean. This forum, which was held last July 26, 2011 at the Claro M. Recto Hall, Bulwagang Rizal, UP Diliman, featured Retired Army Brig. Gen. Danilo D. Lim of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Dr. Ricardo Trota Jose of the UP Department of History and Ms. Criselda Yabes, freelance journalist and writer. The forum tackled issues in civilian-military relations in the current Aquino administration.
Mantra Maintenance: Governance by Slogan, Administration by Spin
Organized by the Third World Studies Center (TWSC) and co-sponsored by the UP Office of the Vice-President for Public Affairs (OVPPA), the Philippine Political Science Association (PPSA) and the College of Arts and Letters Office of the Dean, this forum is the third installment of the 2011 TWSC Public Forum Series, “The B.S. Aquino Administration: Possible Perversities, Perverted Possibilities.” This forum, which was held last August 23, 2011 at the Claro M. Recto Hall, Bulwagang Rizal, UP Diliman, featured Dr. Carol P. Araullo of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, Mr. Gary B. Olivar of the Center for Strategy, Enterprise and Intelligence, and Ms. Ellen Tordesillas, columnist for Malaya and Abante. The forum assessed how the Aquino administration’s promotion of its good governance rhetoric affects, in the long run, public perception of and expectations from his government.
Rationalized Inability

Aquino Administration: Possible Perversities, Perverted Possibilities.” This forum, which was held last September 29, 2011 at the Claro M. Recto Hall, Bulwagang Rizal, UP Diliman, featured Dr. Alex B. Brillantes Jr. of the UP National College of Public Administration and Governance and Prof. Dante B. Gatmaytan of the UP College of Law. This forum examined the possible ramifications of the current Aquino administration’s apparent lack of attention to issues concerning local governance policies.
